This assembly is used when hunting larger pelagic fish.  A float system allows the diver to fight the fish from the surface after the line breaks away from the speargun.  The tailstock screw is replaced with an eyebolt.  The "carrot" which is connected to the SS ring is pulled into the eye of the bolt (as illustrated on the left) to hold and tension the spear line.  The other line, also connected to the SS ring, is attached to a Float line.  The force caused by the speared fleeing fish will pull out the carrot, thus separating the shaft from the gun.
